The Trump Administration ends the main health advisory committees, threatening health equality

President Trump, through a executive orderCommanded the Department of Health and Human Services to terminate several health advisory committees, including the Long Covid Advisory Committee, as well as the Health Capital Advisory Committee for Medicare and Medicaid services.

The order was placed as a means to reduce the size of the federal government in an attempt to curb government waste and reduce inflation.

Although the end result may result in significant cost savings, dismantling such major health committees can undermine efforts to address complex health issues such as Covid Long and health inequalities.

The Long Covid Advisory Committee consisted of 14 unpaid members who were accused of making recommendations for research, treatment and intervention to help individuals suffering from the disease. The condition refers to a series of symptoms that persist at least three months after an initial infection with Covid-19 Cdc. Typical symptoms include fatigue, headaches, chest pain, difficulty breathing, depression and difficulty concentrating, among other symptoms.

The executive order may have devastating consequences for more 20 million Americans This suffers from Long Covid. The Advisory Committee was critical in identifying the advantages of research, promoting cooperation with scientists and informing Long Covid policy changes, which is a poor disease known as incompetence under federal law. Without the Committee in the country, there will probably be gaps in policy development, as well as reduce public awareness and understanding of the situation.

Does not help that the Trump administration also removed important information and public data on Long Covid from federal websites. Lack of transparency in the sharing of critical health information can eventually lead to evil -Diagnosis and inadequate care. The end result can mean millions of Americans with disabilities and Long Covid health results.

Another equally important advisory committee that will end under President Trump’s executive order includes the Medicare Health Capital Advisory Committee and Medicaid Services. This committee identifies and reduces systemic obstacles to access to health care in marginalized communities as colorful people, those who are poor and those with limited access to health care sources such as those living in rural areas of America.

This special committee is critical of identifying gaps in caring for so many tangible Americans, many of whom have no voice to address their needs. Without this committee, how will the needs of minorities and those who are marginalized?

There is no lack of health inequalities and health inequalities in the United States. As examples, individuals of certain racial ethnic groups, low -income families and those living in rural areas face significant obstacles in accessing high quality health. States with the largest population of black Americans have rates disproportionately higher of unsecured people. Low -income Appalachian Rural Households have 35% less mental health providers when compared to the rest of the nation. Finally black women are 40% more It is likely to die from breast cancer when compared to white women.

These alarming health inequality should be an impetus for the federal government to expand, not to reduce these important health advisory committees. The decision to complete these advisory committees on the necessary health will hinder the progress in the understanding of Long Covid and exacerbate existing and growing health inequalities throughout America.

One thing remains clear- doctors and health care personnel should start advocating for health and health policy because it is becoming clearer that the federal government is not.
